No Frills to offer post-secondary education at select locations
On Tuesday, grocery chain No Frills annouced it will begin offering university courses in its stores this September.
The annoucement comes amidst rising concerns regarding the cost of tuition in Canada
“No Frills has always been about keeping costs down for Canadians,” said Timothy Butler, a spokesperson for the grocery chain.
“And if Canadians need low-cost education, then that's what we'll provide.”
Initially, No Frills will offer three undergraduate programs: English, Aerospace Engineering, and a newly developed field of study called Haulernomics.
“We're really excited for you guys to see Haulernomics,” said Butler.
The exact cost of each course has not yet been revealed, but Butler ensured that students would only be “minimally gouged” and confirmed you will be able to pay with PC Optimum Points.
All classes will be conducted within currently operating No Frills locations.
Enrollment will roll out at self-checkouts as an optional add-on to your bill beginning August 31st.
